Apple is generally known for perfecting products rather than pioneering them, and this is expected to be the case once again as it prepares to unveil its first foldable iPhone.
The tech giant is holding its much-anticipated Apple event on Wednesday, where a number of new products should be confirmed. Chief among these is Apple’s first foray into a foldable phone, which is rumoured to be called the iPhone Ultra.
Unlike most foldable devices currently available on the market—which feature taller, narrow aspect ratios—this phone will be wider in shape. It is believed to have a 5.5-inch OLED outer display, which folds out into a 7.8-inch OLED display at full size.
According to MacRumors, the design will be close to an iPad mini when unfolded, with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold8 believed to have the most similar dimensions.
