Africa’s fragmented payment infrastructure remains a constraint on cross-border commerce, forcing businesses and individuals moving money between countries to navigate different currencies, banking systems, mobile-money networks and regulatory regimes.

Mansa Transfers, an African cross-border payment orchestration company, is seeking to address the problem by connecting these disparate systems through a common technology layer.

Founded by Nigerian, Cameroonian and Beninese professionals, the company officially launched in January 2025, following about 18 months of development focused initially on the Nigeria-Cameroon corridor.

Its proposition differs from the traditional diaspora remittance model, which largely moves dollars, pounds and euros into African markets.

Mansa Transfers is focused on intra-African payments, enabling money to move in both directions between African economies.
