Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with drones overnight Monday, September 7, hitting the City Mall shopping and entertainment complex in the city center.
Spokesperson for the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Kovalenko reported this on TV, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
“After midnight today, the Russian invaders struck one of the city’s largest shopping malls, City Mall. It is located ... next to the Epicenter shopping center, which was destroyed several weeks ago. City Mall management had decided to suspend the mall’s operations throughout September, so fortunately, no one was injured,” Kovalenko said.
According to him, the UAV attack caused the shopping complex building to catch fire. The fire has since been extinguished, but the building sustained extensive damage.
