The Orrphan 7 project, touching the lives of those that matter

A Morningside-based non-profit organisation is appealing to the public and business community for urgent support after the sudden loss of long-standing donors left its crucial social welfare programmes facing a severe funding shortfall.

Mercy Mission, which runs the Imam Development Program (IDP) and the "Orphan 7" child welfare initiative, requires urgent financial assistance to maintain its support network across 14 African countries.

"Unfortunately, our current donors and well-wishers are unable to continue their support due to various reasons, which we understand," said founder Bilal Ismail.

"We cater for about 70 orphans, and we are appealing to the community to come forward and help us help them make a better life for themselves."
