The World Spice Organisation (WSO), the not-for-profit technical partner of the All-India Spices Exporters Forum (AISEF), will host the fifth National Spice Conference (NSC) 2026 in Jaipur on September 19 and 20.Themed “Empowering Farmers, Protecting Consumers,” the two-day conference at Novotel Jaipur Convention Centre will bring together stakeholders from across the spice value chain.The conference will feature business sessions, an exhibition showcasing technologies and indigenous agri-products, and a Buyer–Seller Meet. Discussions will focus on improving farmer incomes, strengthening food safety, promoting responsible sourcing and sustainability, and expanding market access for farmers and farmer producer organisations (FPOs).The inaugural session will feature WSO Chairman Ramkumar Menon, Karnataka Agriculture Price Commission Chairman and former Chairman of the Committee on Doubling Farmers’ Income Ashok Dalwai, Spices Board Secretary MS Manivannan, Rajasthan Principal Secretary, Agriculture & Horticulture Department, Manju Rajpal, and NSC 2026 Business Committee Chairman Ganapathy K D.APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev will deliver the keynote address on the second day.Ramkumar Menon said the conference would bring together the entire spice value chain to address challenges affecting farmers and consumers. The focus on farmer empowerment and consumer protection reflected the need to strengthen food safety, sustainability and market linkages while equipping farmers to meet evolving market requirements, he said.Over its previous four editions, the National Spice Conference has emerged as a platform for farmers, FPOs, processors, exporters, regulators, researchers and technology providers to collaborate and exchange knowledge. The 2025 edition attracted 485 delegates.This year’s conference will place greater emphasis on the link between farm-level practices, consumer safety and changing market requirements, particularly as India’s spice sector faces evolving food safety standards, regulatory changes, sustainability expectations and rising demand for traceable and quality-assured products.Published on September 7, 2026
