The High Court allowed the mention of an urgent hearing, and the matter was taken up. We had prayed for interim relief with respect to the constitution of an independent judicial committee so that the committee can look into the reasons for the unfortunate incident that happened yesterday and also identify the authorities responsible for such a mishap so that they can be held accountable."Kumar added that the court has taken the matter seriously and raised concerns over student safety. He said, "The High Court has taken a positive view with respect to the petition and also taken a strong view regarding the safety of the students. The High Court also observed that hostels should be constructed and said that these PGs are very unsafe for students. The High Court has given the respondents 10 days to file their affidavits."The MCD has been asked to submit details on all PGs operating in Delhi as part of this process.
