Guwahati: Two militants belonging to the United Kuki National Army (UKNA) were killed and two others injured in a gunfight with a joint team of the Army and Assam Rifles in Manipur's Churachandpur district.A senior official said the operation was launched at Phaibong village in Henglep subdivision as there was intelligence that UKNA members were camping in the area. "Security forces began surveillance over the camp. Commenced tactical closing in at 5 am on September 2."The camp was destroyed following the search operation. UKNA is not a signatory to the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement involving the Centre, the Manipur government and several Kuki and Zomi armed groups.
