Four members of the armed group United Kuki National Army (UKNA) were killed during an encounter with security forces in Manipur’s Churachandpur district early Tuesday (November 4, 2025) morning.The security forces later caught a member of the outfit during an incident at Khanpi village under the Henglep subdivision.Forensic report finds whistleblower audiotapes linked to ex-Manipur CM Biren Singh ‘modified and tampered’: Supreme Court“…terrorists resorted to unprovoked firing on an Army column at Khanpi village, approximately 80 km west of Churachandpur, Manipur. The UKNA has been mostly active in the Churachandpur district.The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), the apex body of the Kuki community, condemned the “armed operation by the paramilitary forces on the UKNA”, and termed the incident as “grave injustice”. It said the encounter caused “profound pain and outrage among the Kuki-Zo community”.The KIM reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful dialogue and cooperation with the Centre for an “enduring and honourable resolution”, cautioning that “continued targeted actions against our community severely undermine trust and jeopardise the peace efforts”.
