A prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) has asked the High Anti-Corruption Court to remand Serhii Kropyva, deputy head of the Department of International Cooperation, in custody with the option of release on UAH 200 million bail. Kropyva is accused of providing cover for fraudulent call centers.
The prosecutor made the request on Sunday during a hearing to determine the preventive measure for the official of the Prosecutor General's Office, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"I ask [the court] to impose detention as a preventive measure, with the alternative of UAH 200 million bail," the prosecutor said.
If bail is posted, the prosecutor is asking the court to impose a number of obligations on Kropyva. These include wearing an electronic monitoring device, surrendering his international passports for safekeeping, and refraining from communicating with a number of witnesses in the criminal case, including Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko.
