Some debuts are quiet. Ainsley Maitland-Niles chose the opposite route, rifling a 25-yard equalizer past Manchester United’s goalkeeper in the sixth minute of stoppage time to rescue a 2-2 draw for Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on September 6.

The result, part of Matchweek 3 of the 2026-27 Premier League season, leaves both clubs unbeaten but probably feeling very different emotions. Everton sits on 5 points, while United trails just behind on 4.

A second half that refused to stay settled

Bryan Mbeumo put Manchester United ahead just seconds after the restart, scoring in the 46th minute to give Michael Carrick’s side a lead they held comfortably for over half an hour.

Tyrique George pulled Everton level in the 83rd minute, turning the Hill Dickinson Stadium into a cauldron of noise and giving the home side belief that a point was there for the taking.
