The Sharks have stepped up their preparations for the United Rugby Championship, with coach JP Pietersen pleased by the signs of growing cohesion after a 66-0 warm-up win over South Western Districts in George last Friday.
With their URC opener against the Ospreys at Kings Park on September 26 now three weeks away, Pietersen used the match to give valuable game time to several players who impressed during the Currie Cup.
And while the scoreline was emphatic, the Sharks coach was more interested in the physical test provided by an SWD side coached by former Springbok and Bulls mentor Heyneke Meyer.
“The forwards and backs interlinking, playing with each other, was good to see,” Pietersen said.
