Our Yorkshire Farm favourite Raven Owen leads a very different life away from Ravenseat Farm16:17, 06 Sep 2026The Owen family have become a beloved staple on our TV screens.‌Amanda Owen, also known as the Yorkshire Shepherdess, lives and works on Ravenseat Farm with her ex-husband, Clive, and their nine children. Their first documentary series, Our Yorkshire Farm, debuted on Channel 5 back in 2018, and has since become one of the broadcaster's most popular programmes.‌In 2024, Channel 4 commissioned a ten-part series titled Our Farm Next Door, which follows the family as they undertake the renovation of a 200-year-old farmhouse in the Yorkshire Dales. The third series premiered in January, with another instalment on the way.‌Amanda and Clive's children are regular helpers on the farm, with their son, Reuben, even going on to launch his own machinery business. Their eldest daughter, Raven, was also a familiar face at Ravenseat, but has since forged a different life away from the sweeping hills of North Yorkshire. The 25-year-old was often seen on the family's Channel 5 documentary, but has since moved away from farming. Raven studied biomedical science at York St John University, where she graduated with first-class honours in 2022, before completing a master's degree in the same field.‌Earlier this year, Amanda took to Instagram to reflect on the pride she felt on the day of her daughter's graduation. "For Raven," the caption read, alongside a snap of her degree certificate."I remember so fondly how proud I felt on the day of your graduation. You had managed to get your neighbour's car started without jump leads by disconnecting your car battery and using a couple of spanners."Amanda continued: "The overwhelming pride and love that I had for you that day." Fans were quick to share their support in the comments section.‌Since leaving university, Raven has continued to work in science. But she hasn't forgotten her roots. She notably made a brief return to the Dales during an episode of Our Farm Next Door, where she spoke about her life in York.Content cannot be displayed without consentSpeaking on the show, she shared: "Just that sense of being in the countryside. I can see myself coming back here in the future. Once I've had my city time and stuff like that."Article continues belowHer dad, Clive, added: "She's a Ravenseater. She's named after it. And I think it'll always be a part of her life." He went on: "She's living her life in York, so she doesn't see the project as often as the others, but it's lovely to be back and having a look at what we've done."Raven visited the site of Anty John's, the home her family was renovating for their new show. Once the structural work was completed, she was eager to help her mum with the interior design. Sharing her approval, Raven said: "Seeing it today and the progress that's been made since I was last up, I just feel quite happy for her."Our Yorkshire Farm is available to stream for free on 5, while Our Farm Next Door can be streamed on Channel 4
