New Medium-Term program sees single-digit inflation by 2029

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz unveiled Türkiye’s Medium-Term Program (OVP) for 2027-2029 on Sept. 6, outlining updated economic forecasts and policy priorities while projecting that inflation will fall to single digits by 2029.
Speaking at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, Yılmaz said Türkiye had made significant progress in fighting inflation.
“We have made significant progress in combating inflation. Inflation, which rose to 75.5 percent in May 2024, has entered a clear downward trend thanks to the policies we have implemented,” he said.
