Romania issued an air-raid warning overnight on September 6 and prepared to scramble aircraft after a group of aerial targets approached the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

The Romanian Ministry of National Defence reported this on Sunday, according to Ukrinform.

“On Saturday, September 5, at 23:40, the MoND’s radar surveillance system detected a group of aerial targets moving towards the river border with Ukraine,” the ministry said.

It added that Romania’s air defense systems were placed on combat alert.

“Two Spanish Air and Space Force F-18 aircraft and a Romanian Air Force IAR 330 Puma SOCAT helicopter were ready to scramble,” the military said.
