The first night of the Creative Arts Emmys is in the books.
The annual two-day event — taking place ahead of the Primetime Emmys on Sept. 14 — will see over 100 awards handed out, mostly for below-the-line categories. Statues presented on Saturday include honors for variety programming, reality and documentary/nonfiction.
Saturday’s big winners included The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, The Muppet Show, Love on the Spectrum, The Traitors, The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny and My Mom Jayne: A Film By Mariska Hargitay, which each took home multiple trophies. Octavia Spencer also took home her first Emmy for narrating Lost Women of Alaska, and The Traitors‘ Alan Cumming extended his winning streak for best reality tv host.
Hargitay, who is hosting the Primetime Emmys, has extra reason to celebrate this year, as she landed two statues — for the emotional documentary centered on her mother Jayne Mansfield — for directing for a documentary/nonfiction program and outstanding documentary or nonfiction special.
The dual ceremonies, which are taking place at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, are not televised live; on top of the competitive prizes, Creative Arts weekend is also celebrating the winners in juried categories for animation, costume and innovation in emerging media programming.
