NEW YORK - Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Brazil’s Luisa Stefani advanced to the round of 16 in women’s doubles play at the U.S. Open with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Italy’s Sara Errani and Austria’s Lilli Tagger on Saturday.
The second-seeded Dabrowski, from Ottawa, and Stefani broke on five of their eight chances. They also saved four of Errani and Tagger’s six breakpoint opportunities.
