Tata Consultancy Services just made one of the largest AI infrastructure bets in Indian history. The IT giant’s data center subsidiary, HyperVault, announced plans to develop a massive artificial intelligence data center campus spanning 264 acres in Hyderabad’s Future City district in Telangana.
The project carries an investment commitment of up to Rs 70,000 crore (roughly $8.2B) from HyperVault and its partners, with a target capacity of 1 gigawatt.
What TCS is building
The Hyderabad campus will be purpose-built for high-density GPU deployments designed for training, inference, and advanced AI workloads. The target customers are frontier AI companies and hyperscalers.
TCS is framing this as part of its broader “Infrastructure-to-Intelligence” strategy.
