In an industry faced with capital investments, and challenging regulatory frameworks, aviation stakeholders addressed a fundamental truth: Aviation is ultimately built by human ingenuity.
At the 2nd Induction Ceremony of the Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHOF), held at the Golfview Hotel in Ikeja on Friday, policy makers, veteran captains, flight engineers, and regulatory chiefs under the central theme ‘The Next Generation of Aviation Leaders: Talent, Technology, and Global Competitiveness,’ celebrated 18 industry icons while establishing a permanent bridge between Nigeria’s rich aerospace history and its future.
Wole Shadare, Co-Convener of NAHOF and veteran aviation journalist, noted that the initiative was birthed out of an urgent need to institutionalize historical preservation within Nigeria’s aviation ecosystem.
“A nation that fails to document, honour, and celebrate its pioneers risks losing the compass that guides its future,” Shadare warned.
“If our younger generation of pilots, engineers, air traffic controllers, and aviation managers do not know who built the industry they inherit, they cannot fully grasp why standards must be preserved at all costs.”
