Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, and the Nasarawa State Police Command have rescued four kidnapped victims in separate operations in Katsina and Nasarawa states.
In Katsina State, troops rescued three kidnapped victims during an operation along the Dandume-Sheme Road in Dandume Local Government Area of the state.
The victims were rescued on Thursday following a distress call from local residents who alerted security forces to the activities of suspected terrorists operating along the route.
According to the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, troops, in collaboration with the police, swiftly mobilised to the area after receiving the alert.
Danja, in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, said the security forces engaged the terrorists, forcing them to flee into the surrounding bush.
