Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued three kidnap victims during an operation along the Dandume-Sheme Road in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The victims were rescued on Thursday, September 3, 2026, following a distress call from residents who alerted security forces to the activities of suspected terrorists operating along the route.
According to the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, troops, in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police, swiftly mobilised to the area after receiving the alert.
Danja, in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday, said the security forces engaged the terrorists, forcing them to flee into the surrounding bush.
He said, “Acting on the distress call, troops in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police swiftly mobilised to the scene and made contact with the terrorists, overwhelming them with superior firepower.”
