Could you tell us about your educational background?
I had my primary and secondary education here in Enugu State. I went on to study Economics at Enugu State College of Education Technical in affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. School taught me discipline, but music taught me expression.
Even while I was in class, I was always writing, recording voice notes, and performing at school events. Education gave me structure; music gave me voice.
What was your journey into music like?
I grew up singing in church and at family gatherings. My first recordings were done on a phone with a headset mic. I would send songs to friends on WhatsApp, and they’d tell me, “Kamcy, you need to take this seriously.” From there, I started making freestyles and posting on the internet, and soon I began to meet co-singers who believed in me. It was slow, but every step taught me something. The journey has been one of faith, late nights, and learning the business side, not just the art.
