Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso, says a final decision on Moises Caicedo’s fitness will be made on Saturday, leaving the Ecuadorian midfielder a doubt for Sunday’s London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Caicedo missed Chelsea’s opening two matches of the season against Fulham and Luton Town before returning to the squad for last weekend’s meeting with Brighton and Hove Albion.
However, his comeback lasted only 13 minutes after the midfielder was introduced as a second-half substitute before being forced off with an issue Alonso described as “wasn’t something new”.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash in a club statement on Friday, Alonso said Chelsea would wait until their final training session before deciding whether Caicedo will be involved.
