Brighton striker Promise David admitted he thought it was a “scam” when he was offered his first big break.
The Canada World Cup star had been backpacking around Europe when the call came two years ago which would change his career and take him from the Estonian Third Division into the Premier League.
Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise - where Brighton owner Tony Bloom is a shareholder - identified David from their scouting system and the rest is history.
David was at Estonian club Nomme Kalju at the time - often playing for their under-21s - when the call came and he has ended up going to Brighton in a potential £22m deal via Belgium.
