The report. Spain’s National Police told the judge investigating July’s mass crossing into Ceuta, in a leaked 55-page document, that the episode was “not an event by spontaneous generation,” logging nine alerts sent to the interior ministry between July 8 and August 4; the ministry publicly denies any report attributes responsibility to Moroccan authorities.
The verdict. A Maltese court acquitted businessman Yorgen Fenech on Wednesday of ordering the 2017 car-bomb murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, prompting her son to call the ruling one “our country may never recover from.”
