Bondada Engineering has formed a subsidiary PhotonicGrid Networks with the objective of building, owning, operating and maintaining fibre optic infrastructure networks and allied telecommunications infrastructure in the country.Multi-route fibre optic cable networks, dark fibre and duct infrastructure, data transmission systems, secured networks for special purposes, data centre interconnectivity, AI data-centre connectivity and other digital infrastructure solutions will form part of the proposed network infrastructure.Bondada intends to offer the network infrastructure and associated managed services on long-term contracted arrangements to customers including hyperscalers, AI Companies, neocloud operators, data centre operators, telecom service providers and large enterprises, subject to applicable regulatory approvals and commercial arrangements.The proposed business is aligned with the rapidly increasing demand for high-capacity and reliable digital connectivity driven by data centres, cloud computing, artificial intelligence infrastructure, 5G/nextgeneration networks and India’s broader digital infrastructure expansion.The group’s existing telecom engineering and execution capabilities are expected to provide PhotonicGrid with an important execution advantage, enabling the subsidiary to leverage in-house capabilities for network development and deployment, Bondada said.
