KwaZulu-Natal enters Tourism Month with encouraging tourism figures, with tourist arrivals through KZN gateways up 29.1% year-on-year.

KwaZulu-Natal has recorded a 29.1% year-on-year increase in tourist arrivals through its ports of entry, providing an encouraging start to Tourism Month and the province’s spring and summer travel seasons.

According to the latest Stats SA international tourism figures, arrivals through KZN’s ports of entry increased from 25,939 in July 2025 to 33,479 in July 2026.

The growth was particularly strong at the province’s regional land gateways. Tourist arrivals through Golela increased by 32.8%, while Kosi Bay recorded a 42.1% rise over the same period.

KZN’s growth also outpaced the national increase of 12.3% on the comparable port-of-entry measure. Nationally, Stats SA recorded 991,696 international tourists in July 2026, up 12.5% from 881,393 in July 2025.
