The Demacia Cup just got a passport. What was once a China-only League of Legends tournament has expanded into a full-blown international invitational for 2026, and the LCK’s three representatives are now locked in: Hanjin Brion, BNK FearX, and KT Rolster.
What the Demacia Cup Global Invitational actually is
The 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational is a 12-team tournament running from October 3 to October 17. It pulls teams from six major competitive regions: LPL and LCK each contribute three squads, LEC and LCS send two apiece, and LCP and CBLOL round out the field with one team each.
The key qualifier for entry is simple and slightly brutal. You have to have missed Worlds. The tournament is designed specifically for the best teams that weren’t quite good enough to earn a spot at the World Championship.
The format starts with best-of-one and best-of-three stages online, then transitions to an offline single-elimination bracket. That offline portion will take place at the Beijing Smart Esports Center, the home venue of JDG. TJ Sports and Huya are handling the organizational duties.
