The Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM) has condemned the killing of two youths in an attack on Rim community in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the incident as another evidence of the worsening insecurity in the State.

In a statement signed by Rwang Tengwong, BYM National Publicity Secretary and made available to Journalists on Wednesday in Jos said the attack, which occurred on Wednesday, claimed the lives of Joel Bwede, 39, and Justics Dadong, 22.

“BYM is deeply concerned over the latest attacks by armed terrorists in Rim and Wereng communities, which have further exposed residents to fear and insecurity,” the Association said.

“Human lives are increasingly being reduced to mere numbers in recurring reports of killings, with each casualty rep uresenting a family shattered, dreams cut short and a community left traumatised,” BYM added.

The Association said the situation should not become the new normal in Plateau State, calling on the Federal and Plateau State governments, as well as security agencies, to do more to safeguard the lives and property of citizens.
