The association noted that residents of Gyel and neighbouring communities in Bassa Local Government Area had repeatedly raised concerns over attacks and insecurity allegedly perpetrated by armed elements operating around the Gyero and Rafin Buna axis.

The Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM) has expressed outrage over the killing of three persons by gunmen at a mining site in Nyango, Gyel District of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the latest attack as another disturbing indication of worsening insecurity in the area.

The attack occurred at about 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday when armed men stormed the mining site, killing three persons and injuring several others.

An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the assailants invaded the area while miners and other residents were engaged in their daily activities.

According to the eyewitness, the gunmen had been loitering around the community before launching the attack.
