Four signings, three players sold, two more loaned out, and one transfer saga. That was not Crystal Palace’s summer transfer window but their deadline day alone.
For good measure from the aftermath of a roller-coaster Tuesday you can throw in one grumbling agent, with Diomansy Kamara furious his client Ismaila Sarr did not secure a move to Liverpool from Palace.
“He has to digest for sure because it’s a dream for a lot of players to play with this kind of club (Liverpool),” Palace head coach Pierre Sage said. “He had a good opportunity but in the end it didn’t work. Like every bad situation, time does the job and we need time for that.”
Add the fact Jean-Philippe Mateta remains a Palace player and there is more repair work for Sage to undertake, in a month where their first-ever Europa League campaign begins. The four late additions have at least added depth to Palace’s squad.
Did SCR hold Palace back?
