BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay has opened up about his colleague Jeremy Vine saying he's a "naughty boy" and is completely different off air10:25, 04 Sep 2026Updated 10:27, 04 Sep 2026Vernon Kay has shared what one of his "naughty" co-stars is really like behind the scenes.‌The 52-year-old presenter, who recently announced his seperation from wife Tess Daly, appeared on the iconic BBC Breakfast sofa on Friday (Septemebr 4) to promote BBC Radio 2 in the Park which takes place next weekend.‌The flagship live music extravaganza heads to City Park in Stirling from Friday, September 11 to Sunday, September 13 with live performances from some of the world’s most popular pop stars all introduced by Radio 2 presenters.‌With tens of thousands of music fans expected to attend, the event promises to be an unforgettable music spectacular for all the family.Sharing his excitement, Vernon told hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt: "It brings us all together. All the listeners, all the DJs who managed to get a ticket in one confined space and it's a celebration of BBC Radio 2 but also a celebration of the music we play.‌"It's so much fun. We've all grown up career wise together. It feels like a school trip when you felt different and actually feel like yourself rather than being trussed up in a school tie.Host Naga then asked: "Who's the mischief maker?" and Vernon didn't waste time in replying straight away "Rylan", referring to Rylan Clark.‌Naga than wondered: "Is the teacher Jeremy Vine?". Vernon replied:"No, no, no, Vine is the one back of class flicking wet tissue at the teacher.He continued: "He's the mischievous one. He's the naughty boy but he's great fun. He's the current affairs person at BBC Radio 2 but he absolutely isn't that guy in real life.
