Looking back at school sex education, most of us were handed a brief, terrifying lecture on biology, risk management, and how not to get pregnant. We were taught how the plumbing works, but nobody ever bothered to hand us the user manual for pleasure, connection, or emotional satisfaction.

I don’t know about you but in my upbringing, we were conservative and NOBODY talked about these things. I don’t remember my parents ever kissing or holding hands.

Decades later, we’re still unlearning those rigid classroom lessons and trying to figure out what a healthy, fulfilling intimate life actually looks like. If I could rewrite the curriculum today, here are seven essential truths I wish someone had taught us from the very beginning.
