Gameweek Three is shaping up to be one of the most interesting Fantasy Premier League weekends of the opening half of the season. With FPL now giving us two sets up chips to use, managers have to be more willing to identify an opportunity and attack it when it appears — and Gameweek Three certainly looks like an opportunity. Manchester City host Coventry City, Liverpool face Ipswich Town, while several other teams have attractive fixtures. There are plenty of routes to a big score, making Gameweek Three a genuine candidate for not just the Triple Captain chip — my colleague Holly Shand has explored that in-depth here — but also the Free Hit or the wildcard. It won’t be right for everyone but there are some compelling arguments for using a chip right now.Free Hit: Attack the fixturesThe Free Hit is perhaps the most interesting chip in Gameweek Three. The beauty of the chip is that you don’t have to worry about what happens beyond a single gameweek. You can simply build the best possible XI for the fixtures in front of you. There are several fixtures worth targeting:
Manchester City have Coventry at home
Brighton have Leeds at home
Newcastle host Bournemouth
Brentford welcome Sunderland
