The Chairman, Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, Prof. Femi Akinwumi, has said that only qualified and competent candidates will be considered for employment in the ongoing primary school teachers’ recruitment exercise in the state.

Akinwumi said such a measure was necessary in view of the need to have quality teachers at the primary school level, which he described as “crucial to the academic development of pupils and their future educational pursuits”.

The SUBEB boss, in a statement on Thursday, disclosed that the board had concluded a four-day interview exercise for shortlisted candidates seeking recruitment into the state’s public primary schools.

He said, “Candidates will be selected strictly on merit and based on their relevant qualifications. Only those with the requisite certificates will be considered.
