S. Vincent, member secretary, Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST), has been chosen to receive the Association of Agricultural Technology in Southeast Asia (AASTEA) Outstanding Leadership Award 2024 in Education and Research.In a letter, AASTEA, Bangkok invited him to the 14th International Conference on Integration of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development 2026 to be held in Vietnam in December 2026, where he will be presented the award.A biologist by training, Professor Vincent has been the Dean of Research at Loyola College. In his present capacity, he steered the TNSCST towards promotion of intellectual property rights and patent filing in the State, which led to the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, designating it a Nodal Centre for facilitating GI-related matters for other State councils.
