The beloved series is set to return to screens in just hours, with series 28 commencing on Friday, September 4.‌Since launching in 2013, the show has become a firm staple in households across the country, with the likes of The Malone Family and best friends Jenny Newby and Lee Riley gaining thousands of fans.‌Some of the show’s most famous TV critics, including Scarlett Moffatt and Stephen Webb, have gone on to find fame on other shows, with the former having won I’m A Celebrity in 2016. Now, Gogglebox has teased some new faces are about to join the cast.‌Content cannot be displayed without consentIn a post on social media, hours before the show’s return, they shared a glimpse at some of the famous sofas and living rooms that are in front of cameras on the show. At the end were two brand new set ups, hinting that two households are joining.The caption read: “Swipe to the end for a surprise...Brand new #Gogglebox starts Friday 4th September 9pm on @channel4.” It added: “Don’t forget to #VOTEGOGGLEBOX for best FACTUAL ENTERTAINMENT at the @officialntas Link below and in bio.”‌Viewers were left delighted at the update, with one writing: “Looking forward to seeing who’s on the new sofas!” Another said: “Can’t wait for the new sofa!!!!!” Someone else wrote: “Looking forward to meeting the new families.”A fourth person meanwhile laughed: “Aw why can't my sofa be on there,” while another echoed: “Cant wait missed it so much x.” However, some fans raised concerns that some of the usual stars’ backgrounds appeared to be missing from the post.
