Srikakulam Collector and Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) president Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar on Thursday said that blood donation is the best service to the society since the donors would directly save patients fighting for their lives in hospitals. Mr. Pundkar, who received the gold medal from Governor Abdul Nazeer in Vijayawada on behalf of the IRCS congratulated Red Cross’s chairman P. Jagan Mohana Rao and its Public Relations Officer P. Chaitanya and others for holding blood donation camps.In a programme organised in Srikakulam on Thursday, he felicitated Mr. Chaitanya who had previously got national award from the Centre for taking many service activities in united Srikakulam district.Mr. Rao said that Mr. Pundkar and Joint Collector Farman Ahmed Khan had been extending their support to IRCS in taking up several charitable activities including running orphanage and old age home in Srikakulam.
