Martínez’s journey to Real Madrid’s first-team bench has been remarkably swift. The young midfielder was playing for Racing Santander earlier in the season, where he announced himself by scoring on his La Liga debut.
Real Madrid activated his €3 million release clause in late August 2026. Martínez signed a contract running through June 2030, giving Madrid long-term control over a player whose ceiling remains unknown but whose floor already includes a top-flight goal. He’s officially registered with Castilla, the club’s reserve side, but has been training with the senior squad and appearing in matchday squads throughout the season.
