The House of Representatives committee investigating the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) has cleared Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, of involvement in the activities of the purported government agency.
The committee, however, said its preliminary findings had exposed what it described as an elaborate scheme involving forged presidential correspondence, a purported executive order, an altered National Assembly document and the unauthorised use of the names and identities of senior government officials.
Yusuf Gagdi, the Chairman of the ad hoc committee, disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja while presenting the panel’s preliminary findings on the investigation.
The probe followed a July 8, 2026 resolution of the House after concerns were raised over the appearance of PFIPC in the Federal Government’s budget framework.
According to Gagdi, the investigation found no valid law, gazetted enactment, presidential executive order or other lawful instrument establishing the organisation.
