Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country is ready to make every possible effort to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to a peaceful end.

He made the statement to reporters while commenting on his recent meeting with Putin in Bishkek, according to Ukrinform, citing TRT Haber.

“It is our expectation, and Mr. Putin's, that the war between Russia and Ukraine will end peacefully as soon as possible. We want a peace process between Russia and Ukraine to take place in this region as soon as possible, and for peace to prevail in the region,” the Turkish President said.

He stressed that the war had brought no positive results for the region, the world, or the parties to the conflict.

“Is Putin happy about this? He is not. He also expects this matter to be resolved peacefully as soon as possible. We have expressed to Mr. Putin that we are ready to do everything we can for peace. It is a fact that peace, not war, will prevail. We are ready to make every effort to achieve this,” the Turkish leader said.
