A Russian air attack struck a multi-story residential building in Odesa overnight, injuring over dozen people, local authorities said early Thursday, Sept. 3. Serhii Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, initially said on Telegram that eight people were known to have been hurt in the building.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. However, later he clarified that the number of people injured in the Russian strike has risen to 17. “As a result of the overnight enemy attack, 17 people were injured, including three children. All are receiving the necessary medical assistance,” the report said. The attack damaged apartments on the 10th through 17th floors of a 21-story residential building, as well as several cars. The extent of the damage is being assessed. “The response to the attack is ongoing. Municipal and other relevant services are working at the scene. Operational headquarters have been deployed, where residents can receive the necessary assistance and consultations,” the local authorities said.
The latest strike came a night after another massive Russian attack on Odesa injured eight people, including a child, and damaged a 24-story residential building, office buildings, two educational institutions and other infrastructure. Russian forces have repeatedly targeted Odesa and the surrounding region with drones and missiles, striking residential areas as well as civilian and energy infrastructure.
