Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang tells G20 ministers AI is essential infrastructure, even as US communities push back against new data centres.

CHAPEL HILL: Top US tech bosses, including Nvidia chief Jensen Huang and OpenAI's Sam Altman, urged G20 ministers on Wednesday (Sep 2) to embrace artificial intelligence and build the data centres to run it.The executives spoke on the second day of a G20 meeting in North Carolina, where the Trump administration corralled the AI industry's top figures to pitch their vision to ministers from the world's leading economies."In the end, what every single country will have to recognise is that (AI) is infrastructure, just as it's water, roads, electricity, the internet," Huang told the ministers."Every single country needs to build infrastructure so that you can support your own local economy," he said.
