Washington to press G20 on light-touch AI regulation

Tech bosses including Elon Musk, Nvidia's Jensen Huang and OpenAI's Sam Altman are participating in a G20 meeting in North Carolina this week amid a global debate on how governments should address the dangers of artificial intelligence.
The meeting in Chapel Hill, home to the University of North Carolina, a leading U.S. research hub, takes place on Sept. 1-2 and will be attended by ministers from the world's leading economies, including Japan, Germany, France, India and South Korea.
The United States holds the rotating G20 presidency this year and is hosting a series of ministerial meetings ahead of a leaders' summit that President Donald Trump will convene on Dec. 14-15 at his Trump National Doral resort in Miami.
