Ukraine has received information that some international airlines have already begun to cancel flights to airports in the Russian Federation.

Volodymyr Zelensky mentioned this in a video address, according to Ukrinform.

“We are receiving reports that the first airlines have begun to cancel flights to Russian airports following our announcement about the drone threat that objectively exists in Russian airspace. This is the correct and entirely logical response to the facts on the ground—to everything that is happening because of the war that Putin refuses to end. We must protect lives,” the head of state noted.

Zelensky noted that Ukraine has officially informed international organizations and partners about the actual state of Russian airspace.

As previously reported, on September 1, the President of Ukraine warned airlines that Russian airspace was becoming dangerous.
