The Gentlemen star Theo James is throwing cold water on reports of Meghan Markle joining the Netflix crime drama’s cast — yet is still leaving the door open to the possibility.
After a flurry of speculative stories that Markle was in talks for the show’s third season amid her move with Prince Harry back to the U.K., James dismissed the idea of the former Suits star appearing in the series.
“I think that’s mostly hot air,” he told The Hollywood Reporter while discussing the upcoming second season of The Gentlemen. “To me, it’s fascinating how that exploded that much and how intrigued people are and how much kind of cultural significance [Meghan and Harry] have.”
He continued, “I guess it’s inevitable in some way. We talk about casting all the time, but, I mean, the practicalities of that are also complex for a show like ours. Can you imagine the amount of attention, paparazzi and so forth you’d have? So I would say it’s pretty unlikely.”
