The Gentlemen star Theo James speaks out over Meghan Markle casting rumours ahead of season two releasing on Netflix.18:43, 02 Sep 2026Theo James jokingly revealed he had his sights set on another royal love interest to join The Gentlemen, ahead of season two.‌The second series of Guy Ritchie’s hit Netflix show is launching tomorrow, and was recently hit with a wave of rumours that Meghan Markle would be making an appearance in the third season.‌While it is unclear where the speculation stemmed from, the 41-year-old - who plays Eddie - was questioned about whether he would be sharing the screen with royalty in future episodes.‌“Yes, Fergie is joining. She’ll be playing my love interest," he said, making light of the headlines in a new interview. “No, I think that was mainly a lot of hot air. At the moment, we’re just trying to get as many eyes on season two, and then season three will happen soon.“But in terms of story, we have the overarching ambition of where we’re going to go. We’re going to expand the world, go to different countries." He added to Town & Country: "But in terms of the minutiae, I mean, it’s still very much up in the air.”‌Prince Harry and Meghan stunned fans when they returned to the UK last month, six years after they stepped back from royal duties and moved to California.Shortly after news of their comeback broke, the former actress - who shot to worldwide fame with her role as Rachel in Suits - was linked to a role in the third season of the Gentlemen.A report from Deadline read: "While it’s unclear whether the talks would lead to a deal, Markle getting a showy part on The Gentlemen - which films in the UK - would make sense.
