Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Rajmohan on Wednesday (September 2, 2026) said the files relating to the sanitation workers who had been protesting in support of their long-pending demands were ready and the government would deliberate on the issue.The Minister, replying to Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin in the Assembly, said there were financial constraints.Mr. Udhayanidhi also wanted to know why Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, who had invited the workers [when they protested during the DMK regime] to his office in Pannaiyur, had failed to visit them even though their ongoing protest had crossed 15 days.When Mr. Rajmohan said the protest by sanitation workers had continued for over 100 days during the DMK regime, Mr. Udhayanidhi wondered whether the government wanted to wait until the protest crossed 100 days.“There is no response to my question as to why the Chief Minister has not visited the workers,” he said.
