The ‘Vikrama Simhapuri Ganesh Utsava Samiti’ was constituted to unite all those organising Ganesh festivities in Nellore under a single platform during a meeting of Ganesh pandal organisers convened here on Wednesday. The committee will inaugurate its office at TVS Kalyana Sadan in Shivaji Centre on Trunk road in the city on Saturday (September 5, 2026).“Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations, which were previously conducted without even basic infrastructure for immersion, are currently held with extensive arrangements, featuring comprehensive infrastructure at Penna Ghat (on the banks of Penna River) and Ganesh Ghat at Nellore Tank in the city,” said the committee president Kondapalli Srikanth.He requested the organisers of temporary Ganesh idol installations to visit the office of Vikrama Simhapuri Ganesh Utsava Samithi to register and seek permission through the single-window system. He announced that the celebrations would be conducted grandly for five days, starting on Monday (September 14) at various junctions across the city.Furthermore, the immersion ceremony for the idols at the designated ghats is scheduled for Friday, (September 18), which will be preceded by a procession along various routes through the city, organised with the support and cooperation of the government.
