A large Australian study found important differences between younger and older adults with advanced bowel cancer. Researchers analyzed 1,691 patients whose cancer had spread only to the liver. Patients diagnosed at 50 or younger were more likely to be women, have left-sided tumors and carry certain genetic mutations.
