Sony’s superhero blockbuster “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” held the top position at the U.K. and Ireland box office for a fifth consecutive weekend, generating £2.7 million ($3.7 million).
The film has collected $125.5 million after 27 days on release.
Universal’s epic “The Odyssey,” directed by Christopher Nolan, maintained second place in its seventh week on release, adding $3.2 million. The performance advanced the feature’s running total to $107.6 million.
“Insidious: Out of the Further,” distributed by Sony, secured third place in its sophomore frame, collecting $1.8 million to lift its cume to $6.6 million. Altitude’s live-action animation hybrid “Coyote vs. Acme” claimed fourth position in its second frame with $1.4 million.
Disney’s post-apocalyptic drama “The Dog Stars,” starring Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin, debuted in fifth place with an opening frame of $1.4 million. Warner Bros.’ “The End of Oak Street” followed in sixth place during its third session, adding $892,214 to raise its running total to $8.1 million.
